Dog Health Conditions and Terms You Should Know… Part 2
Cryptorchidism is peculiar to male dogs and a condition present at birth.
The testicle/s, which developed in the abdomen, fail to descend into the scrotum. The usually underdeveloped and non-functional testicle/s should be removed, as it could turn cancerous later in life.
If the condition remains after the puppy is more than 2 months old, then the chances are it will remain so permanently.
Eye ulcers, if caught early, are easy to treat. Late treatment can be expensive for you as well as painful for your Boxer.

By following these simple steps, you can ensure that your furry friends are a part of your family for many years to come.
Introduction to the Great Dane
The Great Dane, also known as the Deutsche Dogge, is a huge dog whose power is one of the most important features it possesses. It has straight legs and a long neck. Its head is in a special form that has a narrow shape, which makes this intelligent animal dramatically striking. With its dark and round eyes, it has the capability to control its environment even in the darkest moments of the night. The great dane’s ears can be seen in two entirely different states, naturally long and floppy, or cropped. Cropping, although unnecessary, can be performed by a veterinarian in the first six months of your puppy’s life.
Hypoallergenic Dogs
When we talk about hypoallergenic dogs, we mean that they have a less or reduced tendency to cause allergies or allergic reaction among allergy sufferers.
It has been estimated that about 10% of the US population is allergic to animals (American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology). Symptoms of the reactions can range from watery eyes to dangerous asthma attacks.
The problem is not with the pet’s hair. It is the dander, or microscopic scales of dead skin (similar to, but much smaller than the dandruff on the human scalp) which pets are constantly shedding that is the cause. They are so tiny that you seldom know that they are circulating in the air or laying on the furniture and carpets because they are so small.
Rescued Animals: They Often Make the Best Pets
I’ve always had pets ever since I was a child - both cats and dogs, usually at the same time. I’ve had purebred pets and mixed breeds - a few purchased from pet stores and breeders, while most of the others were rescued from local animal shelters and humane societies. And I have to say overall that in my experience, the best pets we’ve had are the ones we’ve rescued.
Goldfish
I love the pet goldfish we have at home. Did you know that the goldfish was one of the very first to ever be domesticated? That’s true. And even today, the goldfish is still one of the most popular and commonly kept aquarium fish.
The goldfish is actually a member of the carp family. You might say it’s the smallest of the brood, but that wouldn’t be entirely accurate either. History says that the goldfish is actually related to the dark-gray carp that was first found in east Asia before it was introduced in Europe during the 17th century.
